Tissues

I watched a TED talk video about how silk can be used to utilize many things in society one would not think of. For example, using silk cups instead of Styrofoam cups because if they are thrown on the ground they are better for the environment; also, using silk to replace or repair bones in our body because they are absorbable and eatable so it would not harm the body. I also read an article about brown fats which are said to burn more calories than normal white fat. Apparently they are triggered during exercise or when one is cold to maintain body temperature while burning calories. Now all of this ties back into the idea of cell differentiation because both the silk and brown fat have different functions. Depending on where the silk is and being used for depends on its function, while brown fat is used to maintain body temperature when one is cold. Different structured cells have different functions, and in anatomy tissues are a mass of cells that are grouped with similar structure and functions. The silk is the same thing because it is a mass of cells forming a thing layer that the body can use. This links to homeostasis because, for example, the brown fat is used to maintain body temperature and homeostasis is maintain order in the body! Body temperature is one of the functions homeostasis maintains!
